Aeon Computing Deploys 1 Petabyte Lustre Parallel Filesystem for the US Department of Energy

Aeon Computing deploys 1 petabyte (1PB) Lustre parallel filesystem for the US Department of Energy and University of Maryland. The filesystem design is comprised of 48 QDR Infiniband connections, 736 2.0 Terabyte disk drives and IntelŽ Xeon 5500 processors and will be deployed concurrently with a new 448 processor IntelŽ Xeon 5500 based cluster and QDR Infiniband fabric. The awarded contract, in excess of $1 million, is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA).
