The EclipseSL™ is a new direction in Lustre filesystem storage. EclipseSL™ combines a high I/O CPU/memory/chipset architecture with 36 removable 6Gb SAS disk drives and removable boot/root SSDs to form a single combination OSS/OST storage building block to scale Lustre filesystems from hundreds of terabytes to multi-petabyte filesystems.
EclipseSL™ employs dual QPI chipsets to provide balanced and high throughput I/O. The EclipseSL™ arcitecture allows for dual RAID controllers and single or dual QDR Infiniband or 10-Gigabit Ethernet HCAs.
The balanced arcitecture of EclipseSL™ has been designed to maintain balance in a Lustre fileystem with even numbers of OST volumes per OSS instance, balanced I/O performance across all OST volumes and network I/O paths.
Management of EclipseSL™ can be done completely remote with IPMI v2.0 monitoring, console and control as well as CLI, Java and Web management interfaces.
The EclipseSL™ has great support options available including Lustre support from Whamcloud, 7/24 onsite hardware support and advanced hardware replacement.
With benchmarked sustained performance of 3.8GBytes per second the EclipseSL™ is one of the best capacity and performance per dollar storage products available for Lustre.
